about Traveling Off The X

As you turn the pages of “Traveling Off the X,” you’ll find yourself immersed in the rich tapestry of humanity and landscapes that most can only dream of visiting.

From Saudi Arabia’s deserts to the frozen vastness of Siberia. From the enchanting allure of New Zealand to the turbulent landscapes of Morocco. From the lush jungles of Borneo and Guatemala, to the perilous shores of Ascension Island in the South Atlantic—Jo’s journeys will widen your eyes and deepen your knowledge about people, their history and terrain.

Jo writes of ways to manage physical, emotional, and even spiritual risks while working in the conflict zones of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Israel and Ukraine.

She articulates her unique coping strategies for enduring the agony of significant losses, including of her son, his father, her team members, family, friends and colleagues.

Traveling Off the X” is more than just a travelogue; it’s an exploration of the human spirit, resilience, and the enduring connection between people and the places they call home

Embark on a globe-trotting adventure like no other with Jo Patti Munisteri’s riveting non-fiction debut, “Traveling Off the X.”

“This incredible memoir takes us to places we are unlikely to travel to and gives us insights into situations we are unlikely to experience unless we worked in covert operations for government agencies. The book is written in first person, so despite when these events actually took place, the reader feels very much as if events are unfolding as they are being read. The author has a knack for highlighting and explaining things along the way, such as why communism doesn’t work. I also really appreciated her sense of irony such as this phrase, “the team posed taking pictures in front of instruments of torture and weapons displayed.” The book is filled with intrigue, information, and casts a light on human behavior. Loved it.” -Vanessa O’Brien, Adventurer and author of “To The Greatest Heights”
