S.R. Carson is a physician who practices three sub-specialties in the Mountain West where bears occasionally visit him.  He says he is blessed with a military background, and he loves what he does, but he makes sure that he does not allow the practice of medicine and science to stifle his innate creativity. So, he writes novels, short stories and blogs.  When an idea bubbles up into his consciousness, he has no choice but to write about it and share it, even if it is sometimes dark and brutal. His stories are based on reality and events that could happen to all of us, but always infused with hope, inspiration and love. He is guilty of refusing to hide the basic truths of the world we live in. These stories are character based, and the reader will find that although his protagonist is strong and confident, he has flaws that seem to prevent him from accomplishing his goals, and the moral dilemmas he faces prove to be just as powerful as the physical threats and conflicts that come his way.

The author writes under the pen name S.R. Carson and has written both fiction as well as non-fiction work.  His first novel is psychological suspense: To Love with Hate. His nonfiction work includes an e-book memoir about his personal near-death experience: Code Blue: A Doctor’s View of His Own Near-Death Experience. And finally, he wrote a self-help book for patient families: The Intensive Care Unit: What Every Family Needs to Know. And finally, his most recent title is: Inspired in the Bedroom: Nightly Reads from S.R. Carson:  Before, During and After Romance.

Blue Shadows is a military thriller with a strong medical background, as well as a spiritual twist that forms the background of one of the conflicts that the protagonist carries with him on his quest. This will be the first book in a series.
