Jo is a multi-talented individual who has had a diverse career as a performer, teacher, analyst, Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, team leader, mentor, martial artist, writer, and mother. She holds degrees from Georgetown University, Massey University, and the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She was recognized as a “Texas Artist for Life” in 1999 for her contributions to choreography, poetry, and storytelling. She has also worked as a specialist and fellow with the US Department of State and as a project coordinator for various organizations, including USAID, Peace Corps, universities, and ministries of education. She has experience working in remote and conflict-affected areas such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Israel, Iraq, and Ukraine, and has also worked with Indigenous communities in multiple countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Africa, and the USA.
