about Memoirs of a Domestic Terrorist
About This Author
Paulie Gatz was born in a gutted Midwestern city to a working-class family that would be ripped apart by the opioid crisis and the mass, overseas exportation of American industrial jobs. Despite spending large chunks of his youth homeless or living with foster families, Paulie never stopped believing in the American Dream. Supporting himself full-time with odd jobs that included custodial work and fast-food service among other things, Paulie put himself through college with straight A’s. He would go on to graduate from one of the nation’s top law schools after being accepted everywhere that he had applied, including Yale, Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Chicago. Today, Paulie practices law and writes novels in his spare time, a hobby he finds relaxing and rejuvenating. He hopes you will enjoy reading his books as much as he enjoys writing them.

Memoirs of a Domestic Terrorist is a not-so-subtle allegory condemning United States foreign policy in the Middle East. Set on a different planet many years in the future, the backdrop is very plainly America by a different name. The story follows a young man named Adam, a direct descendent of one of his nation’s Founding Fathers, as well as the grandson of the founder and CEO of its premier weapons company. The story picks up when Adam’s father, the family’s black sheep, is discredited and arrested for treason in retaliation by the Deep State for his role in guiding a populist upstart to the presidency and for advocating anti-war policy. When Adam is arrested in connection to his father’s alleged crime, he is forced to flee for his life. He soon finds himself on a journey that will take him to the Middle East where he must confront his family’s true legacy and the wars that have made his grandfather billions.
