about Land of the Story Tellers

This book has been traveling 25 years to get here … and now it’s here. And you have to say call it — is this the best book you ever read?

Land of The Story Tellers is a collection of 23 stories and 7 poems. These stories are stricken from the mountain pass of Smugglers’ Notch, where you will come face to face with a one-eyed Vietnam veteran, across the San Juan Mountains slashing powder of Colorado; through the smoke-filled boxing rings of Panama, to the far slopes of northern Italy, where the reader can peek from behind the blue grapevines across the deadly Italian landscape.

I believe with all my heart, this is the best book you will ever read. There are no letdowns here. You won’t be cheated here. Count on it. I’m the best writer walking, and I’ll jack you straight up in your reading chair.

Stephen Deck — the author.

about this author

Stephen Deck is a writer, artist, and photographer. He has burned through hundreds of art pads in his life, served as a draftsman for Headquarters Company at Fort Dix and on drawing boards at the municipal level. He’s been a writer since day one, and to this very day, his main writing tool is a Nakajima WPT-150 electric typewriter. His art training has been constant devotion over long spans of time, and was groomed and accentuated inside the Art Students League of New York City — he was seated inside those hallow grounds on the mornings when the terrorists attacked. His most proud achievements are his volunteer resume, where time was freely given to mankind: Alaska Fish & Game — fisheries technician; two tours of Central Park of New York City — master hand pruner; American Red Cross — Storm Katrina; WWOOF Italia — farmhand and grapevine pruner in Northern Italy; Newtown shooting — volunteer and artistic emotional support; and ten years trying to solve the murder of Holly Piirainen with my spin on things, which failed.
