Interview with Zach Hackert, Author of Destruction: How the Democratic Party & RINOs Almost Destroyed America

What inspired you to start writing?

Well, I have always found it easier to communicate easier through my writing. For my first book, I really got inspired to write it, when my Senior Seminar Professor in college showed the class a clip of Greta Thunberg speaking at a Climate Summit in front of world leaders when she was only sixteen years old. Even though my college professor and Greta Thunberg have different political beliefs than my own, that was not the point that he was trying to make. His point was that if you feel passionate and strong about something, then you could achieve anything you want in life. That really hit home.

At the time I started writing my debut book, I was really frustrated with everything that was going on throughout the country and how the mainstream media was not covering some events either, fairly or just not at all. I wanted to correct the narrative and educate the public in order to enact much needed change throughout the country.

How do you research your books?

As someone who absolutely loves history and research, I am constantly looking things up on the internet and reading news articles, journals, and newspaper stories online. As a political scientist, I am constantly watching all of the different news outlets on TV as well as reading stories on their different websites. After I educate myself on a topic, I then formulate my own opinions.  In the case for my debut book, I used all of the following examples listed above. If I had the professional and personal connections to interview high-profile people, then I would have used them. But I am young and still working to establish those connections.

Is writing your full-time career? Or would you like it to be?

At this point, I am not sure if I would want writing to be my full-time career. I would like to attend Graduate School first and enhance my skills and knowledge in the field of Political Science. I also think that if I were fortunate to be able to attain my doctorate that I would also be able to develop more professional connections. I would definitely like to write other books. I feel that I would be better suited in a role that allows me to help educate others like I tried to do in writing my first book. I honestly think that my book would be a perfect asset for undergraduate Political Science students if each college would be willing to give it a chance.

Being a full-time writer would take a lot of time and commitment, it is not a simple thing to answer. First, you would need to know what type of story that you would want to tell as a writer. Second, if research needs to be done, then you would need to complete your research before you start writing. Third, you need to be okay with rejection. That means that just because you think that you have a great story as a writer, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a publisher is going to agree with you. Then, a writer needs to constantly edit there writing and reform their skills, after all writing is a skill. Finally, promoting a book takes a lot of work, and before you commit yourself to that then you need to be willing to put in the time.

Where can readers purchase your book?

My book can be purchased on Amazon as well as on Barnes & Nobles’ website.

If your book were made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it?

If my book were made into a movie, I would like it to be made into a documentary film that was narrated by Dinesh D’Souza.

What famous author do you wish would be your mentor?

I really wish that Dinesh D’Souza could be my mentor because he writes books and researches projects in a manner that I would like to emulate.

Can you please share something about the book that isn’t in the blurb?

This book is important because it talks about not just the history of politics in America, but it also covers current and recent events. For example, there is an entire chapter about the National Debt Crisis, which led to former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy being ousted. There is also a chapter about the Opioid Crisis, which is being made worse by the current border/immigration policies made by the Biden Administration. Border and immigration policies are quickly becoming a major issue in the upcoming presidential election in 2024. The final chapter of the book talks about everything that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic in an objective manner, including the riots in 2020 and the events on January 6th. Those events were brought up to make a point about the mainstream media’s coverage and cover a major mistake made by the Democratic Party during that time. Now, considering the fact that because of the Hollywood Actors and Writers Strikes and the fact that there are only re-runs on TV and no new shows, how many people do you really think are watching cable news channels or TV in general while that is happening? So, my book is another way to educate the public about these events, so that they can make their own decisions before casting their votes in future elections.

Are there any secrets from the book, you can share with your readers?

The chapter about the Opioid Crisis really hits home because I know someone who had their life changed because of it.  I witnessed that personal struggle with their addiction, so I really want to convey to everyone that reads the book that this crisis was a preventable problem, but since it wasn’t, everyone needs to be aware of just how big of a problem it really is.

Can you share is snippet that isn’t in the blurb or excerpt?

Yes. There is another excerpt that I would like to share, so here it is. “Now, President Joe Biden left Americans behind to get slaughtered after the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. If the Taliban or Al-Qaida were to order another terrorist attack on the United States, which is highly likely, the United States would be back in the same position it originally was in before the War on Terror began.” That was chosen to also show that the book doesn’t just cover domestic policies foreign policy issues as well. That was also a major issue that should never happen again, so it is up to each individual reader to learn about it, so that the same mistakes are not repeated in the future.

Are you working on anything you would like to share with your readers?

Interview with Zach Hackert, Author of Destruction: How the Democratic Party & RINOs Almost Destroyed America

Yes. I am working on writing a second book titled, Peace Through Strength. It is a fictional book that is based on the real-life events of the Chinese Spy Ballon incident. I am writing the book to show what a president should have done in that situation. Finding the time to write has been difficult considering that my mother had a stroke, I have been more focused on her health than writing at this time. But I intend to finish this book as soon as I get a chance to. If this is something that you would like to read, then please let me know.

Excerpt from Destruction: How the Democratic Party & RINOs Almost Destroyed America

“In December 2019, the Democrats in the United States House of Representatives decided to impeach Donald Trump for a highly partisan and political issue regarding a phone call with the leader of Ukraine. But please look at the date. The first reported case of Covid-19 occurred in China in November 2019, so by engaging in a partisan impeachment that cost the US taxpayers a great deal of money just to hurt him politically, they also caused an unnecessary distraction that likely made the Covid-19 pandemic even worse. So, in other words, the Democrats chose to play politics at the beginning of the pandemic, and they haven’t stopped playing politics since then. That means that the Democratic Party has blood on its hands when it comes to the amount of people that have died from the Covid-19 pandemic as a result of their political games.”
