CONROE, TX – Defiance Press & Publishing proudly announces the release of “The Seven,” a spiritually rich and thought-provoking novel by award-winning author Alison Gieschen that examines humanity’s relationship with creation and divine judgment through an innovative narrative.
Now available at major retailers nationwide and online, “The Seven” presents a divine test where mankind’s fate rests in the balance as seven individuals from across the globe are chosen to represent humanity. In an unexpected twist, their judges are not God or angels, but the creatures who have served mankind since the dawn of civilization – horses. These majestic beings, who have carried humans through history, must now decide if humanity deserves to continue its journey.
“‘The Seven’ is a novel that transcends typical categorization—it’s simultaneously a spiritual allegory, a character study, and a powerful meditation on the bond between humans and animals,” said Lisa Woodward, Director of Publishing at Defiance Press & Publishing. “What makes this book truly special is how Alison Gieschen has drawn from her lifetime of experience with horses to create a narrative that feels both divinely inspired and deeply authentic. As readers follow these seven souls through their final judgment, they will recognize pieces of themselves in each character’s journey toward truth and redemption. This novel exemplifies our commitment to publishing works that explore faith and spiritual values in ways that both comfort and challenge readers. In a literary landscape often hostile to Christian themes, ‘The Seven’ offers a refreshing blend of creative storytelling and timeless wisdom about God’s mercy and the true measure of a human heart.”
The novel introduces readers to seven diverse characters: Reginald Dupuis, a ruthless pharmaceutical CEO; Sophia Santiago, a marathon runner who sacrifices her dreams for an act of compassion; Paloma Ortega-Sánchez, an ambitious congresswoman who learns too late what truly matters; Justin Barone, who battles his father’s expectations while trying to save a broken horse’s spirit; Eduardo Fernandez, who leaves behind his family’s olive groves to chase an impossible dream; Dr. Destiny Khumalo, who faces an impossible choice between loyalty to her heritage and her oath to do no harm; and Ivan Novak, whose solitary quest for freedom leads to an unexpected friendship on a deserted island.
When these seven are brought before the divine court, they discover it’s not their accomplishments that matter, but what lies within their hearts. As their stories interweave and collide, each must confront the truth about themselves and their choices. In a shocking twist, one horse’s refusal to judge his human companion forces God and His Son to reconsider everything.
This profound tale explores the deep connection between humans and animals, the choices that define us, and the ultimate question: Has humanity strayed too far from its purpose to be saved? “The Seven” is a powerful story of redemption, second chances, and the extraordinary bond between humans and the creatures who know our hearts better than we know ourselves.
