He is no one special or of much interest. Frankly, he is a nobody. His literary talent is marginal at best. But he has struggled to communicate a tribute to those who have surrendered their lives at the behest of this nation’s interests, even if said interests were misguided or flawed. For in honor and faith they fulfilled their duty. He also reveres those who lived through the nightmare of war; the specific conflict is irrelevant, as the staining of the soul is perhaps the most troubling legacy of human conflict. May the survivors find a livable peace and a lovable remembrance of their fellow human beings who gave the ultimate gift, their existence.
